Karen B. Thompson is the afternoon DJ on Magic 97.7 in Lyndonville, VT. She hosts live from 3:00–5:30 PM, delivering news, weather, and hosting Magic Trivia. Karen has spent many years in show business, beginning her career as a model, later performing as a stand-up comedian, and taking on live improv television, movie extra work, and dramatic and musical theater. She played a role in the 1996 Presidential campaign, has competed in amateur golf tournaments across New England for over eleven years—securing multiple championship titles—and has been coaching her county’s Special Olympics golf team for eight years, in addition to coaching softball. Karen is also the owner of a care home in Vermont, where she and her two daughters have shared their home with twenty-seven individuals in need over the past eight years. As an end-of-life doula, she has escorted fifteen of them to their final journey with compassion. She also provides in-home guidance for families who cannot afford external care, teaching them how to properly care for their loved ones. Beyond her professional and philanthropic work, Karen loves traveling, fully embracing life with her daughters, and planting seeds of hope and optimism in everyone she meets.
